School Meals

Our Unit manager (school cook) is Mrs Stokoe who is helped in the kitchen by Mrs Kerrigan.

The menu offers a choice of four main meals and salads, vegetables and desserts are chosen at the hatch. The children can order their meal using the classroom smartboards during morning registration or you can pre-order meals online at home with your child. You can also view the recipes to have a go at making your child’s favourite meals at home. In order to access the meals website and pre-order or view recipes you must set up an online account with School Grid. To do this you need to send your email address to the school office.

If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 their school meal is currently funded by the Government through the Universal Infant Free School Meals Scheme. If your child is in Nursery, Year 3 or Year 4 the cost of school meals is £2.25 per day.

Your child can now have dinners some days and packed lunches on other days. However, we are convinced that once the children have sampled the meals they will no longer want to bring packed lunches to school.

You do not have to send money into school but can pay by direct debit if you so wish. If you do not wish to pay by direct debit meals must be paid for in advance and money should be sent to school in a named envelope (cheques payable to Northumberland County Council). Parents may pay for dinner money on a half termly or termly basis in advance. The cost for this will be included in a termly letter which will be sent to you on Parentmail.

Hopefully, soon we will be holding taster days for parents but as always you are very welcome to join us for lunch on any day. Please enquire in the office for more information.
