About us

At Hexham First we have a very active PTA. It is led by Jemma Baty (mum of Michael Thomas in Year 3)

We have many fundraising events throughout the year including Chocolate Bingo, Summer Fair and cake stalls.

The PTA currently pay towards the cost of transport for class trips. We also help to pay for new equipment and refurbishment that the school may need.

All parents and carers are more than welcome to join the PTA, the more the merrier! They do not need to attend meetings, just help out at events.

Latest Project – EYFS Outdoor Area

April 2018

We are entering the next phase of exciting developments at our lovely school.

We want to provide our youngest children with the best possible outdoor learning environment and so we are completely re-designing the EYFS outdoor area.

This is a huge project and so we really need your help.

As well as all of our usual fundraising activities we have set up a gofundme appeal to help raise funds for this project.

Please use the link below to donate. Every donation – large or small – will get us nearer to our goal.

Thank you!

Jemma Baty

I am a Parent Governor at Hexham First School and I also run the PTA. I have two children in the school and they love it. I have a degree in Childhood Studies, Guidance and Counselling and I have a vested interest in all children’s emotional wellbeing. I currently volunteer at Tynedale Hospice at Home as a Receptionist and I am also a Family Support Bereavement volunteer working one to one with clients. I enjoy all of the roles that I have as it allows me to give something back to the school and the community as a whole.
